Woe! Rejected by agent. *le sigh* To make myself feel better, I will query five more agents this week. To be realistic, however, I will also re-double my efforts on the non-novel job search. Alas for unattainable dreams...so tragic, so bittersweet...

*yawn* I'm up way too early after a night of drunken debauchery, and what is my first thought? Which chapter should I put the conversation about the kiss in? Because I've only just realized DUH there needs to be a conversation about the kiss! Michael doesn't give up that easy, and Persephone's not getting off without a healthy dose of angst.

So in case you hadn't guessed, I'm a masochistic lunatic, I mean, novelist, who has yet to publish anything. I am determined, though! Okay, maybe obsessed is more accurate. My goal is to get an agent sometime this year, hopefully before I starve from lack of work. (In the 5% of the time I don't spend freakishly ripping apart and putting back together my novel, I am an instructional design contractor.)

I have had a nibble from an agent. A very, very tiny nibble. After sending a query letter and the first scene of my novel, she emailed me requesting the first 50 pages. Score! Of course, after three weeks of not hearing from her, I emailed to check in and she not only hasn't read it, she can't find the file in her email inbox and she asks me to send it again. Fail! *facepalms* I did send it again, but I still haven't heard back, and I'm not planning on it at this point. So, onward and upward.
